Meet Molson
Meet Molson, more blandly known as Trumpeter Swan P24. Molson was hatched at Wye Marsh as part of their Trumpeter Swan program two years ago. Visiting L23 and C24
Up close with Trumpter swans C24 (top) and L23 (bottom), now in their third week of residing on the Island. Trumpeters usually only pass through, they don’t normally spend too much time here. L23 and C24 were first reported here.
Trumpeter Visitation
A pair of tagged Trumpeter swans is currently (as of May 2, 2012) hanging out around Doughnut Island. Trumpeters, tagged by the people managing the Wye Marsh, are making a comeback in Ontario after being extirpated almost 200 years ago. Trumpeter swans don’t normally stay very long here on the Island, we’ll see how long […]
Cello Fan & Picnic Setting
A trumpeter swan joins in the picnic-like setting at Sunfish Cut for Jacquey Malcolm and Anne Bourne’s cello performance for Luisa Milan’s Hydro-Glyph.
H10 Pretzel
Sadly Trumpeter swans never stay long in our sunny climes, but when they do visit it’s always a small event. Here Trumpeter H10 does its best to turn itself into a pretzel, balancing in the shallows off of the QCYC’s Rapids Queen.
